The City of Science event, which marks the first of its kind to occur outside of the five boroughs, involves both teachers and students working as volunteers and science ambassadors.
Event coordinators are working with several local groups including FIRST, Friends of Rye Nature Center, Groundwork Hudson Valley, Westchester Children's Museum, Greenburgh Nature Center and the Hudson River Museum.
The event is produced by the World Science Festival and presented by Con Edison. It will take place at the Westchester County Center (198 Central Avenue) and feature a wide variety of scientific attractions, interactive demonstrations, huge exhibitions and hands-on learning.
"Here in Westchester County we love science and we love learning – that is why we are thrilled to welcome City of Science to the County Center. Children of all ages will get hands-on with math and science experiments in a fun way. We can't wait to introduce the community to this FREE innovative experience. City of Science is definitely a can't-miss event for the whole family," said Westchester County Executive George Latimer in a press release.
